Securitas was founded in 1934 in Helsingborg, Sweden, and has played an active role in shaping the security industry ever since. From the very beginning, our mission has been to protect people, property, and businesses, a purpose that continues to guide our work more than 90 years later.
As the company expanded across Sweden, Securitas reached an important milestone by opening its first modern alarm monitoring center in 1954. This marked a significant step in the company's development and strengthened its nationwide presence.
Securitas continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability and corporate responsibility. As the first global protective services provider to commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across all three scopes under the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), our near-term emissions reduction targets through 2030 were validated in December 2023.
